The 2022 equine reproduction short courses schedule has been announced!
After over a year-long hiatus owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have scheduled three equine reproduction short courses for the spring of 2022. Two will be held at our facility in Oklahoma (January 22, 23 & 24, and March 4, 5 & 6, 2022), and one will be held at Schembri’s Char-O-Lot Ranch in Myakka City, Florida (February 11, 12 & 13, 2022). In keeping with COVID precautions, places are limited to assist in maintaining COVID protections.
These equine reproduction short courses consist of three days, with the first day being the non-pregnant mare, which includes not only general physiology and management, but also dealing with the problem mare; the second day consists of the pregnant and foaling mare, followed by a practical session, wherein we teach preparation and reading of a cytology smear and how to perform artificial insemination; and the third day is dedicated to stallions with a practical session in the afternoon where we collect and evaluate semen. It is a highly visual presentation using PowerPoint with images and videos from not only our own extensive library, but that of world-leading veterinarians and researchers in the equine reproduction field who have kindly shared material with us.
More details and enrollments are available on our equine reproduction short courses page.
